United revive old transfer target

Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a fresh approach for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, according to Football Insider, as Michael Carrick looks to strengthen his back line.

The 24-year-old arrived on Merseyside from Carlisle United in 2020 and needed time to force his way into Everton’s first team, spending spells out on loan — including a productive stint at PSV Eindhoven — to sharpen his game before nailing down a regular starting berth at Goodison Park.

Manchester United are eyeing Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite for a summer transfer, aiming to bolster their defence.

The 21-year-old has been pivotal for the Toffees this season amid their relegation concerns, featuring prominently in the Premier League with 30 starts and scoring twice. This marks his breakthrough campaign at Goodison Park after a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven.
