Real Madrid lining up move for Matthijs de Ligt

Real Madrid are reportedly targeting Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, who is also on Manchester United’s radar.

The 24-year-old has had a varied career since his breakthrough at Ajax.

Despite not being a consistent starter at Juventus or Bayern Munich, his reputation remains strong. Real Madrid’s interest complicates matters for other suitors like Manchester United, who were previously frontrunners.

Barcelona retain interest in Matthijs de Ligt

Barcelona still interested in one of their primary targets Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.

The Catalan giants were one of a number of clubs linked with a move for the Netherlands international before he ultimately chose the Bianconeri.

De Ligt has had a difficult time with injuries since arriving in Turin, but he chalked up 36 appearances in all competitions during the 2020-21 season.

Arsenal could move to sign Matthijs De Ligt

Arsenal have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt this summer, according to The Sun.

The Gunners have emerged as surprise contenders to sign the Dutchman this summer ahead of Unai Emery’s second season in charge at the club.

De Ligt, 19, is a “huge admirer” of the north Londoners and he worked with Dutch legends Dennis Bergkamp and Marc Overmars.
