Shay Facey signs new 2-yr deal with Manchester City

Manchester City defender Shay Facey has put pen to a paper on a new two-year contract, which will keep him at the Etihad until 2018.
The 20-year-old had been on-loan with City’s sister club New York City FC for the 2015 MLS season but returned to his boyhood club after making 22 appearances in the competitive league.
He expressed his thoughts at signing a new deal and admitted to take the next step in his career with the Premier League leaders.
“I just want to thank everybody who has contributed and been part of getting me to where I am today,” the youngster said on his personal Twitter account.
“[I am] very happy to have signed a new deal with the club that I have now been part of for 11 years. I am looking forward to taking that next step up the ladder and excited for the next chapter to come.”

Facey has made 22 appearances in MLS during his time at the United States.
First-team opportunities at the Etihad will obviously tough to come by for now, but another loan move in either the Championship or League One could be possible.
