The Brazilian playmaker Alex Teixeira has agreed a move to the mega rich Chinese side Jiangsu Suning, worth around £38 million.

The Shakhtar Donetsk attacker was heavily linked with a move to the Liverpool during the January transfer window, but it now appears as the 26-year-old is on course for a £38m switch to Chinese Super League, where he would link-up with compatriot Ramires.

“We have agreed the sale of Alex Teixeira to China,” Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu is quoted as saying by ESPN Brazil.

“But we will wait a bit to finalise it due to the situation with Luiz Adriano. But it’s all sorted on our side.”

Chelsea were also interested in Teixeira’s signature, who has been in superb form for the Ukrainian club this season, scoring 22 goals in 16 appearances.

Teixeira’s move would be the new asian transfer record of the year so far.
