Manchester United would have to spend whooping £62.5 million in order to acquire the services of Southampton winger Sadio Mane, according to a report from The Sun.

The Senegal international is said to be interested in a five-year deal worth £125,000, a cumulative salary of £32.5m, while the Saints are looking for a transfer fee of £30m.

The 23-year-old forward, who has been heavily linked with the Red Devils in recent months, will reportedly hold talks with his advisors over his future after he was left out of Saturday’s defeat to Norwich City.

“In our last meeting two hours before the game he came late,” Saints manager Ronald Koeman told reporters. “That is impossible. Everybody knows we have a sanction – you don’t start.

“I don’t understand a player who comes late to the last meeting. My message to him days ago was that he wasn’t really focused.”

United manager Louis van Gaal to secure the forward last summer but the Dutch boss has spent over £250m on transfers since he took over in 2014.
