Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is pretty much close to sign a new contract extension that could keep him at the Merseyside outfit until at 2021, according to Daily Star.

The Belgium international has two years remaining on his current deal, but the Reds are now looking forward to retain his services for around three-more years.

It is believed that 27-year-old has already penned a contract in principle to extend his stay at Anfield and is expected to sign a new official contract in the coming weeks.

The shot-stopper has been criticised quite a bit from the fans after displaying unconvincing performance for his side.

Liverpool former manager Brendan Rodgers decided to drop him from the first team earlier this season, but has now been backed by the newly appointed boss Jurgen Klopp.
