Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez is reportedly under the radar European heavyweights including the Premier League favourites Arsenal.

Following his sensational form for the Foxes, the Algerian international has been attracting interest from various clubs. He help the Leicester City to lead at top of the league table this Christmas.

The report claims that the north Londoners have now asked Leicester about the availability of the 24-year-old winger who scored impressive 14 goals this season.

Having signed for £400,000 from Le Havre just over 12 months ago, Mahrez’s value has been reached over the top to £25m. However, Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri is reluctant to sell their star strikers including Jamie Vardy.

“I spoke to the two guys, we continue together, we can improve. Maybe at end of the season we can speak. We are in good flight now,” Ranieri said at a press conference last week.

“I don’t wait for their answer! If they believe in me – follow me.

“I didn’t speak with my owner. But he knows very well my idea, it is also his idea. For them there is a contract which they must respect.”
