Spurs are understood to have been scouting for the highly-rated German international for some time and have been impressed with his performances in Bundesliga’s top tier, scoring three goals in 18 appearances last season.
The reports claim that the Lilywhites are desperate need for forwards ahead of the new season and could offer the 19-year-old with a fresh challenge for the next month’s Premier league football.
The starlet is regarded as one of Germany’s finest emerging talents, and could be used as a genuine back-up option to main centre-forward Harry Kane.
Meanwhile, the north London club are also said to be interested in West Brom’s Saido Berahino, while Roberto Soldado is close to make a move away from White Hart Lane.
