Twitter reacts as Liverpool linked with Christian Benteke
Liverpool FC have already made five summer signings – James Milner, Adam Bogdan, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez and Roberto Firmino, while Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton is on his way to arrive Anfield very shortly.
Last night, the Reds were linked with a £25m move for Belgium striker Christian Benteke, who has a £32.5m release clause in his current contract at Villa Park.
The 24-year-old has also attracted interest from the Premier League champions, Chelsea and FA Cup winners Arsenal recently.
After hearing the rumours that the Merseyside club were making a huge offer for Benteke, fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts.
It seems that Reds supporters don’t want him at Anfield…
Who would you rather see in an #LFC shirt next season? RT For Balotelli. FAV For Benteke.

Liverpool would still look to add another recognised striker if the right deal was there. Benteke a genuine target. But not at £32.5m #LFC

Benteke for £27m is worse than Andy Carroll for £35m.

I don’t want Benteke. Our style, his injuries, that’s not what we need. But I didn’t want Ings either. And Benteke is better.. #LFC

I actually don’t think Benteke is nearly as bad as many make out. He’s a good player, but he’s the wrong type of player IMO.
