Chelsea’s two new big signings: Alex Song and Radamel Falcao?
The Premier League champions Chelsea are ready to announce their two big signings of this summer transfer window, which will be seen as a huge blow to rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, according to the Daily Star.
Alex Song
Barcelona midfielder Alex Song, who spent his last season on loan at West Ham is said to remain in the Premier League for next season.
The report claims that the Cameroonian has turned down the option to join Liverpool and opted for a move to the west London club, with Gunners are also said to have been interested in bringing the 27-year-old back to his former club.
Radamel Falcao
AS Monaco hitman Radamel Falcao is poised to join the Stamford Bridge after Manchester United chose not to make his loan move to permanent at Old Trafford following a poor season.
The Colombian has scored only four goals in 26 league appearances for the Red Devils last season. The report has suggested that United tried to persevere with the 29-year-old forward despite his struggles, but couldn’t justify paying the £40m fee to make him a permanent at Theatre of Dreams.
The newspaper also claims that Falcao wanted to get a deal done with the Premier League champions ahead of this month’s Copa America, but the Blues missed the deadline.
These two potential signings show that Mourinho is keen to further strengthen his squad for next season.
