Atletico Madrid youngster Saul Niguez has signed a new five-year deal contract with the Spanish champions which will keep him at the Vicente Calderon until 2020.

The 20-year-old playmaker, whose previous deal was set to expire in June 2018, has committed his future to Diego Simeone’s side by a further two years.

The Premier League giants Manchester United were allegedly interested in securing the services of the Spaniard, who spent last season on loan with Rayo Vallecano.

However, the talented midfielder has decided to extend his stay with Atletico for two more years.

Saul has scored four goals in 32 appearances for Atletico this season.
