Liverpool close in on Memphis Depay deal

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on the signing of PSV Eindhoven striker Memphis Depay, as per the Metro.

The report claims that the deal is expected to be materialised in the couple of weeks.

The 21-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, but it looks that the Old Trafford club have been overtaken in the race to secure the services of the Netherlands international.

However, the Red Devils are still in the race but the latest report from the Liverpool Echo suggests that the Merseysiders are few step closer in securing Depay’s signature.

The report has also claimed that the striker is happy to feature in Champions League football to move to Anfield and is impressed by the Red’s transfer plans.

Depay has scored 21 goals in 28 appearances for the club this season and provided four assists.
