Arsenal are reportedly planning a £5million move for West Ham defender Winston Reid as the north London side look to bolster their defence before the January transfer window closes.

The 26-year-old has long been linked with a move away from the Hammers, with Sam Allardyce believes that the centre-back could move in the summer, according to the BBC Sport.

Reports from the Metro has suggested that West Ham will only be listening to offers of 8 million pounds or higher for the New Zealand international.

While the Gunners look to bolster their squad for the rest of the season by plotting a move for the defender, Spurs’ manager Mauricio Pochettino has also been interested in bringing Reid to White Hart Lane and could offer to pay him £60,000-a-week.

Reid joined the Hammers in 2010 and has made 20 appearances for the east London club so far this season.
