Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has reportedly asked the club’s officials to terminate his contract in order to move to Arsenal this summer as a free-agent, reports the Daily Mail.

The reports have suggested the 33-year-old would like to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, whose future at the Spanish capital has been under scrutiny since the club have signed Costa Rica star Keylor Navas from Levante after his sensational displays at the summer’s world cup.

In addition, due to a lack of first team football last season, the Spaniard has managed only five La Liga games over the last two seasons.

The experienced shot stopper, who helped his side to win five La Liga titles, and the Champions League on three occasions – is thought to be keen to move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Casillas has 3-years left on his contract and should be worth around 9 million euros.
