Sunderland will need to beat in-form Everton at Stadium Of Light on Saturday in order to avoid the Premier League relegation.

The Black Cats are desperate for a win into this game as they are currently sit at bottom of the league table, seven points behind from the safety.

Sunderland’s Injury:

The Irish Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has been ruled out with a long-term shoulder injury and the striker Steven Fletcher is sidelined with an ankle problem.

“I think we need a miracle. We need something unique, a shock, because if not I cannot see it coming,” said the manager Gus Poyet.

Roberto Martinez’s Everton are very much confident following recent Sunday’s stunning 3-0 win over Arsenal at Goodison Park. They are currently in fifth position in the league table, a point behind fourth-placed the Gunners.

However, having been beaten 1-0 in December’s, the Toffees will be taking Sunderland very seriously.

“They’ve had significant performances at home this season and they can replicate that level at any time,” said Martinez.

“We’ll have to be at our best against a team that’s ready to fight for every ball and you have to have the same level of focus and concentration.

Indeed – Everton could make into the Champions League next season with a win in this weekend.
However, they have lost six of their last seven games in Premier League.

Everton’s Injury:

Phil Jagielka is still out of the action with a hamstring injury, whilst Steven Pienaar is struggling with a knee injury.

“We remember the defeat at home against them and we need to be as good as we can be.”

“Leon Osman is the only doubt we have. The cut is healing well but the eye is not fully open so we need to make sure that doesn’t affect his vision,” added the 40-year-old Spaniard.
