Jonathan Tah’s potential move has sparked a heated battle between Manchester United and Barcelona. Both clubs are seeking defensive reinforcements, and with Tah set to be a free agent in 2025, Bayer Leverkusen may be inclined to cash in this January rather than lose him for nothing.
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading the race to sign a highly-rated 17-year-old forward Mason Melia from St. Patrick’s Athletic.
Despite interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, Spurs seem to have the upper hand in landing the Irish wonderkid, who has quickly made a name for himself in European football.
Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for Atalanta’s defensive rock, Isak Hien, in 2025. According to Fichajes, Chelsea sees the Swedish centre-back as a potential upgrade to reinforce their backline despite their current depth.
Hien, 25, has emerged as one of Serie A’s standout defenders after transferring to Atalanta from Hellas Verona early in 2024. His commanding presence in defence, sharp reading of the game, and proficiency in aerial duels have attracted significant interest across Europe.
Marseille are reportedly interested in securing a January move for Chelsea’s underperforming star Mykhailo Mudryk, with Roberto De Zerbi keen on reuniting with the winger he previously coached at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Mudryk’s time at Chelsea has been underwhelming, with the Ukrainian winger struggling to make an impact after his highly publicised move in January 2023. His lack of involvement under Enzo Maresca this season has raised speculation about a potential exit.
Manchester United’s reported interest in Inter Milan’s in-form striker Marcus Thuram could signal a major January transfer move. With an €85 million release clause, the Red Devils appear keen to strengthen their forward line, especially given the struggles of recent signing Joshua Zirkzee.
