Arsenal lead race to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Arsenal’s reported interest in Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall raises eyebrows, particularly given their already crowded midfield options. The 26-year-old, struggling for game time under Enzo Maresca, could be available for £30 million in January, attracting interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham and Manchester United, as well as former club Leicester City.
Dewsbury-Hall’s Chelsea stint has been underwhelming, but his versatility and experience still make him an appealing target. Arsenal, however, appear an odd fit. With recent signings like Mikel Merino and Declan Rice, plus emerging talents like Myles Lewis-Skelly, Arsenal’s midfield depth seems more than sufficient. The north London club’s priority in January should arguably be bolstering their attacking ranks, not adding another midfielder.

From Dewsbury-Hall’s perspective, a move to Arsenal might mirror his current struggles at Chelsea—limited opportunities in a competitive squad. Tottenham and Manchester United, both in search of midfield reinforcements, may offer more consistent playing time. Meanwhile, Leicester, now under Ruud van Nistelrooy, could provide a familiar environment for a revival.
While Arsenal’s reported interest makes headlines, a move to a club with fewer midfield options and a clear role for Dewsbury-Hall seems far more logical for both player and suitor.
