Liverpool’s pursuit of Martin Zubimendi is heating up as the club looks to bolster their midfield before the transfer window closes. The Merseyside club are reportedly growing more confident in securing the Real Sociedad star, despite some lingering complications.

Zubimendi, known for his loyalty to his boyhood club, has yet to make a definitive decision on his future, with Sociedad hoping to keep him by offering a lucrative new contract.

Liverpool, however, remains undeterred and has already secured permission to speak directly with the £51.5 million-rated midfielder. The Reds are eager to finalise the deal quickly, with Arne Slot seeing Zubimendi as a key addition to strengthen the defensive midfield role for the upcoming season.

Additionally, Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a second midfield signing, with Adrien Rabiot emerging as a potential target. While initially considered an alternative to Zubimendi, Rabiot could join on a free transfer after leaving Juventus, further bolstering Liverpool’s midfield options.
