Manchester United are considering a £15m January bid for West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell after losing Luke Shaw to a broken leg, according to The Sun.

After Shaw’s horror injury in the Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven last week, has left the Red Devils short of an out-and-out left-back.

Although Marcos Rojo has played superb in 3-2 victory over Southampton St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.

Cresswell, 25, who is a specialist left-back and has been identified as a January target by United boss Louis van Gaal in the wake of Shaw’s horrific leg injury.

The Old Trafford club will wait to see how they cope without the England international over the next three months – with Rojo and Blind would be act as left-back options – before deciding whether United needs to dive into the January transfer window.

Cresswell joined the Hammers from Championship outfit Ipswich Town last summer for just under £4m. He recently signed a new five-year deal following his dazzling debut season for the east London club.

The former Ipswich Town man has played nine times for West Ham in all competitions this season, creating two assists.
