Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has agreed personal terms with Manchester United to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.

Mourinho’s representatives met with the club’s officials earlier today to discuss a potential deal for the 53-year-old Portuguese to become the club’s new manager.

Louis van Gaal was sacked on Monday evening, just two days after wining the FA Cup 2016, having failed to make into a top-four in the Premier League this season.

Mourinho has been heavily linked with the Red Devils since he left the Blues in December, and Sky Sports News reports that the deal is on the verge to being finalised.

The deal is expected to be done in the next 48 hours, though, the official confirmation most likely to come on Thursday evening.
