Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane scored his first goal of the season and his 17th for the calendar year during Spurs’s 4-1 victory over the title favourites Manchester City on Saturday at White Hart Lane.

The England international has struggled for the Lilywhites in the early stages of the campaign as he failed to established the form that he had last year, where he scored impressive 21 goals in 34 appearances for the North London club.

The 22-year-old help Mauricio Pochettino’s men to climb fifth place in the league table.

Kane told BT Sport as quoted by ESPN FC– “There has been a lot of talk that I have not scored yet but I am a confident young man and I have faith in my ability.”

“I am obviously delighted to get on the scoresheet but the most important thing is a very good victory against a team that was top of the table.”

Spurs travel to France for their next encounter against Ligue 1 outfit Monaco in the Europa League on Thursday.
