On Transfer Deadline Day, the Premier League champions Chelsea have announced the signing of Senegalese defender Papy Djilobodji from Ligue 1 outfit Nantes.

Djilobodji, 26, has been snapped up in to provide competition alongside John Terry, Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma after the Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho failed to secure the signature of Everton’s John Stones.

The central defender took to Instagram to celebrate his stunning move to the West London club, see his Instagram post below:

“Very proud to be part of the @chelseafc family! It’s a dream come true. I can’t wait to get on the field and give it all! #CFC”.”

Djilobodji joined the Blues on a 4-yr contract, having spent six years at the French club Nantes.

Chelsea have been struggling this season very poorly, having the second worst defence conceded 10 goals in the English Premier League after playing four games.
