Real Madrid have reportedly stepped up their interest in Manchester City ace Sergio Aguero to replace Arsenal target Karim Benzema, according to the Express.

Benzema, 27, has been strongly linked with a move to the Gunners in recent weeks, with Wenger is keen to push ahead with a move for the Frenchman.

The North London club have been looking for a quality world class striker for quite some time, and have reportedly launched £46million to bring Benzema to the Emirates this summer.

However, The Blancos have been reluctant to let Benzema leave the Bernabeu this summer, but the recent reports from the English media has suggested that the La Liga giants are now considering a move for the Argentine striker Sergio Aguero as a potential Benzema replacement.

It is understood that City will do anything to keep the 27-year-old at the Etihad, who is one of the club’s top scorer with 32 goals in all competitions last season.
