Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard made his final appearance for the Merseyside club at Anfield on Saturday and it was one of the saddest end of an era.

Twitter users and celebrities paid tribute to the 34-year-old’s career of his final game at his boyhood club, a disappointing 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace.

The legendary midfielder has made more than 700 appearances, scoring 183 goals in 17 year career for the Reds. It is sure to be an emotional occasion for the Liverpool fans.

Gerrard will join MLS side LA Galaxy this summer, where he’ll were No. 8 jersey, which is already a hit and selling briskly.
